How will pressure differ when oxygen is taken out of various mixes of gasses in a flask?
We used this idea to create our project. This exact setup for our control, but we added a method for putting Nitrox into the container.
Interface, Pressure Sensor, Temperature Sensor, Big Plastic Bags, Lighter, Birthday Candle, Lime Water, Water, 2 Beakers, 1 Flask, Nitrox (40% oxygen/60% nitrogen), Nitrox (50% oxygen/50% nitrogen), Fire Extinguisher, Mr. Harlan’s Computer
Because we are absorbing the carbon dioxide, we beleive that in each mixture, the pressure will decrease 1 kpa for every percentage of oxygen. In the control (20% oxygen 80% nitrogen) the pressure will decrease from 100 kpa to 80 kpa. In the first mix of Nitrox (40% oxygen 60% nitrogen) we believe that the pressure will go from 100 kpa to 60 kpa. In the second mix of Nitrox (50% oxygen 50%) we believe that the pressure will go from 100 kpa to 50 kpa.
